Upon arrival, meeting with guide at airport. Our journey will start to the ferry port in Eskihisar and take a ferry to Topcular. From there, transfer to Bursa, the 4th largest city in Turkey. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will visit Ulucami, also known as Grand Mosque, which was built by Sultan Bayezit I from 1396 to 1400. One of the most attractive examples of Ottoman architecture, the mosque has an interior fountain and a beautiful classic wooden pulpit. You will also visit Koza Han which means silk market and the covered bazaar nearby. Next, visit Green Mosque and Green Mausoleum. Built during the reign of Sultan Mehmet I, they were named in reference to the dominant colour of their interiors. The mausoleum is adorned with attractive turquoise green tiles while the nearby Green Mosque, also known as Jewel of Bursa, stands out as a masterpiece of early Ottoman architecture with its exquisite façade decoration, for your overnight stay.
This morning, we will visit Cumalikizik Village, which is listed in the UNESCO Heritage List. After free time, we will visit Golyazi Lake, another older village in Bursa. Thereafter, enjoy a drive through the countryside to Kusadasi for your overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will visit Leather Outlet Center. Set off for Selcuk where you will explore Ephesus, one of the largest archaeological sites in existence. You will find awesome structures such as the Library of Celsius, Hadrian Temple, Marble Street, and Agora. Ephesus is also one of the 7 Churches of Revelation and holds the House of Virgin Mary. Virgin Mary and St John were said to have lived in Ephesus and died here. After lunch, continue to Pamukkale. After dinner, you may wish to enjoy an authentic thermal bath at your own expense.
After breakfast, drive to Konya, one of the first centers of population in the history of humankind and once the famous capital city of the Anatolian Seljuk Empire. Konya is also famous for the Islamic Elders who lived here. After visiting the Mevlana Museum, which houses properties belonging to Mevlana and other dervishes as well as valuable samples of hand-painted kerchiefs, handwritings, ornaments, wooden works of art, and instruments of the Mevlevi music, we will transfer to a hotel for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, we will drive to Cappadocia. Enroute, we will visit Sultanhani Caravanserai. After lunch, continue driving to Cappadocia. We will visit the incredible Underground City where early Christians lived secretly in order to survive. Then continue to drive to Cappadocia. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion tour of the Cappadocia region. Highlights of the day include Goreme Open Air Museum, Pasabag Valley, Uchisar village, a traditional handmade Carpet Factory, and pottery in Avanos Village. Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Depart for Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Visit the Ataturk Mausoleum – the final resting place of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk – Father of modern Turkey. The architecture of the mausoleum is a mix of different styles that represent the various Anatolian civilizations. Then drive to Safranbolu. We will transfer to a wooden house for dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight in Safranbolu.
Drive to Safranbolu, one of the sites famous for its wooden houses in Turkey, which is on the World Heritage List. We will visit Kaymakam Evi, a local food bazaar, and Safranbolu Citadel. Then drive to Istanbul. Lunch will be served on the way to Istanbul. Upon arrival, we will have dinner and transfer to the hotel for overnight.
After breakfast, we will visit Topkapi Palace, once the seat of the Ottoman Empire. Today, it is a museum palace with a wide collection of porcelain, antiques, holy relics, and other treasures. After lunch, visit Blue Mosque, also known as Mosque of Sultan Ahmet, which boasts a unique feature of 6 minarets. Admire its glorious interiors and distinctive blue tiles. Next, view the only remains of the Hippodrome of Constantinople, consisting of 3 monumental columns and a fountain. Then finally, drop by the 500-year-old Grand Bazaar – a maze of more than 4,000 stalls and shops. Dinner and overnight in Istanbul.
After breakfast, we will cross to Camlica Hill where you can see panoramic Istanbul views. After free time, we will visit the Spice Market. Free time until lunchtime. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. Then visit the Mosque of Rustem Pasa, famous for its beautiful tiles. Next, visit the Mosque of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and the Mosque of the Ayyob Al Ansar. Transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, free time until transfer to the airport. Transfer to the airport for departure.
